Our ambition is to develop welcoming residential environments where children feel valued, understood and supported. This describes our intentions, not services currently provided.

  • Individualised care

Recognising each child’s needs, preferences, strengths, communication style and aspirations.

  • Relationship-based practice

Developing positive, consistent relationships built on trust, respect and understanding.

  • Trauma-informed support

Recognising the impact of adverse experiences and promoting emotional safety, predictability and compassionate responses.

  • Positive behaviour support

Seeking to understand the reasons behind behaviour and using proactive, person-centred approaches.

  • Communication and inclusion

Supporting children to express their wishes, feelings and preferences in ways that are meaningful to them.

  • Meaningful experiences

Promoting opportunities for education, friendships, recreation, independence and community participation.

  • Working in partnership

Collaborating with children, families, social workers, education professionals, healthcare teams and commissioning authorities.

Our intended approach is to develop care arrangements that promote stability, safeguard wellbeing and support positive outcomes.
